Excursions - Avila & Segovia Up level

Ávila

One of the oldest cities in Spain and birthplace of the Spanish mysticism of the XVI century. Protected by its middleages Walls, is the capital of province in Spain placed at a highest level above the sea level (1200 mts).
The Visit includes the Church of San Vicente (jewell of Spanish Romanasque of the XII century and which Portal inspired to Mater to do the famous "Portic of the Glory" in Santiago  de Compostela), The Cathedral's Square, the Catholic Monarchs Street, the Campo Chico (Plazo Mayor). Part from here will do a short Route of Saint Theresa passing by the Church of St Juan, the Square of San Juan de la Cruz and the visit to the Birthplace's Church of Saint Theresa.



Segovia

Old roman city dominated by its majestic Aqueduct, built in the time of Trajanus, it owns among others the Cathedrals(Know like "The lady of the Cathedral's and latest gothic Cathedral built in Spain) the Alcazar (during the XIV-XV centuries official residence and capital of kingdom of Castilla) the Plaza Mayor where was crown Isabel I "The Catholic" Queen of Castilla y León. Segovia is as well reputed because of its delicious "Cuisine" and its most reknown speciallity" the suckling-pig (cochinillo).
