"Santo Domingo Bernardo de Fresneda (La Rioja)" has been selected as the "School Parador" of the Company within the project "learning the excellence" that Paradores started in the training centre of the Parador "Hostal San Marcos in León".

The "School Parador" is sited in the convent of San Francisco, 800 meters from the historic centre of Santo Domingo de la Calzada. Once restored it occupies the ancient Guest House, which location and its unmistakable cultural value make it the ideal place for nature walks.

The guests will be served in the different departments by pupils of the school of León who will carry out the knowledge acquired during the theoretic-practical cycle given by our best specialists and professional values in the training centre of the Parador "Hostal San Marcos in León".

Under the modern cupola which covers the novices patio, we may find the "Recreo" Restaurant, whose name refers to the break the monks used to take in the same patio. The gastronomic offer of the "School Parador" is based on La Rioja¿s wonderful products.

The "School Parador" will be run by Paradores de Turismo de España S.A. through Directors and Department Managers who will be the student¿s form masters, supervising the pupils¿ teaching programme practice.

The starting of this "School Parador" fulfil the project of Paradores of training high standard quality professionals, taking advantage of the experience, technology and know-how of the business gathered along more than 78 years, helping this way to maintain the leader position of the Spanish tourist sector.
